Your Diya Prep Guide — In Just 60 Seconds

Usage & Preparation Instructions

Step 1: Soak the Diya (6–7 Hours)

Let the diya rest in water for 6–7 hours. This softens the stone and gets it ready to absorb oil more effectively.

Step 2: Oil the Surface

After soaking, gently apply a light coat of sesame, mustard, or ghee oil over the entire diya. This helps season the stone for a long, clean burn.

Step 3: Let It Rest (3–4 Hours)

Allow the oiled diya to sit for 3–4 hours. This gives time for the oil to fully absorb into the stone and build durability for regular use.

Step 4: Wash & Dry Thoroughly

Before lighting, wash the diya under water and pat it dry with a clean cloth. Ensure it’s fully dry to maintain burn quality.

Step 5: Light with Intention

Place a cotton wick and fill the diya with your preferred oil. Light it during prayer, meditation, or festive occasions to bring peace, prosperity, and spiritual glow to your space.
